weather: HOT HOT HOT. 11th June 2009 Music: resplendent glory- rossano galante event: 17 MORE DAYS TO JCTS! (panicks) , still have yet to update on prelude, and class stuff.
its the 11th of june, 17 more days to JCT. and i feel duper unprepared still. but still, im studying hard here. yup. really hope that can study in time mans. so far the record, is that ive only spent 2 whole entire days slacking. Out of the 11 so far. bad good? yes. i think its bad. Anyhow, have been studying tgt with sihui, shawn and jocelyn so far in the hols. most sessions are productive except for the one ytd. where i was doing Diversity and evolution. such a duper hard chapter of bio. which i feel sucks. anyhow, i was on my mp3 player the other day. and i realize that every single band song that i listen to while doing work, somehow, memories from my band life, be it tj band, or hsc band will just flow back. Say when i was listening to airs for wind orchestra, it just brings me back to when i was finally officially given the chance to play first flute, and the song started out with a flute and glockenspiel solo. with tremoring and encouragement from mr and mrs chua to come out. When i was listening to dancing in the wind, i rmb the times when i felt that ive let my seniors down and didnt feel like talking to them, cos i felt that ive let them down. when i was listening to jupiter, brings back the fiesta memories, on how much of a difficult time to tongueing the running passages at that time. When i was listening to zodiac(hsc's syf recording), i remembered the moments when i come out of the hall, feeling so proud of myself and the band, when i managed to hit the high notes for the picc. cos man, the day before syf, the high notes still didnt come out. hang on ah, disclaimer, haha, i was concentrating on my work when i was thinking bout all this ah. and then it came to resplendent glory.
Just listening to this piece, somehow, brings back the fiesta memories. I still can rmb the vivid scenes playing on tj's audi that day when playing this piece. still can rmb that this was the very first score that kj handed to me out of all to learn for fiesta. Still, from the composer himself, this piece is,
Written in a "romantic/heroic" style, this impressive overture features sweeping and lush melodies along with brilliant brass fanfares and woodwind flourishes. Resplendent Glory is a dynamic concert-opener.
Still, haha, this is one of my most favourite band pieces and even till im old, i will never ever forget how this piece sounds. Sounds so impressive, and just i dont know how to say, just how the brasses and winds come together in this piece, it just somewhat sounds like some movie soundtrack, sounds like something to go like WOW. its just like, when the piece starts you feel this gust of wind(from the winds) coming, following by the grand amazing opening with the trumpets, and like as the piece goes on, its like just narrating story, or somehow feelings of success and grandness and i dont know. its just something like, omg, wow. this is damn downright amazing.
yes. hahahahahhaha. i think this piece just reflects on successful moments, just reflects the whole feeling, like when the piece is running, i just somewhat feel so like, wow. its like theres this brave/motivational story to tell. I dont know how to say. but still, i love this piece.
Being only able to perform this once, and at that point of time, my flute skills are just starting to pick up from a long time of not touching it, somehow, i kindda hope that i can replay this again. well, i dont know. the future. well, scary. oh man, i really really hope that someday, i can get to play with this piece again. omg, its one of the nicest pieces ive ever known. omgggg. hahahaha. other than pieces like EM, machu pichu, danza, 3rd symphony, etc. haha. I really hope that can get into SAF band in the future. hahaha. cos, yes, ive decided that i wanna improve more on it. yes. hahaha.
but for now *pulls myself back to reality* , ive gotta replan my schedule for the 17 days left. Still havent started on econs and chem yet. scary. but still, at least, bio and math theres like 1/4 way through alr i hope. =/. Theres lifesaving next week. my very last rank to obtain. hope i can do it. haha. with 17 days left, im gonna create a miracle. yes i am. hahaha. woots. hopefully, my plans for now will be, study hard and do well for A levels, prelims and JCTS, and thereafter, enter army, BMT, and hopefully, get into SAF Band, sometimes just hearing pieces again and again, just gets my mood back to practicing flute harder, wanting to be zaier and zaier till i can be like xy or kj, or all those countless amazing flautists out there. and then see whether i can make into unis or not.
but for now, enjoy the vid. the band sounds great from there.
so ppl, jiayou for the next 17 days. oh man. hope i can pull through. yes i can. JIAYOU.
omg, and jason, you just tempted me to watch beethoven's virus! Im gonna promise myself this after JCTS. hahahahahha!. =DD.
